About the Endangered Ecosystems Fund
Why should you give to the Endangered Ecosystems Fund?
The Endangered Ecosystems Fund attempts to remove many of the disincentives to conservation giving by addressing the concerns highlighted by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy’s research and by making it easy to specifically provide support to conservation activities in British Columbia. The Fund:
- will support projects identified by experienced conservation professionals as priorities - donors can be confident that any contributions to the Endangered Ecosystems Fund will be applied to high priority conservation projects that will have a real impact;
- will screen all grant recipients carefully to ensure that they are capable, well run and focused on effecting positive environmental change;
- provides multiple means to contribute, making it easy for donors to make donations at work, via the internet or by cheque; and
- is managed by the Vancouver Foundation, the largest community foundation in Canada – donors can have confidence in the financial stewardship of their contributions - meaning that donations will be working to support conservation work for a very, very long time.
