The Endangered Ecosystems Fund will support projects in British Columbia. Applications for projects in the Yukon may also be considered.
The focus of the Fund is on private land conservation initiatives. Recognizing that ecosystems rarely follow property lines, funds can be applied to Crown lands that are adjacent to private property if their use is part of a larger ecosystem-based conservation initiative that contains a substantial private land conservation component.
Work on Crown lands might also be eligible for support if it is necessary to achieve conservation benefits on private lands. For funding to be considered for projects involving Crown lands, surety must be provided that the Crown lands will be maintained for conservation over the long term.
